CFESA Member Benefits
Training
One main reason for
our existence is to promote the highest standards of professional service in order to improve our members’
businesses. Continuous education and training are top priorities in the foodservice industry. To help meet these needs, CFESA has developed two extensive
training programs for foodservice equipment technicians.
Our technician training and testing programs cover gas, electric, steam and ware-washing
commercial food equipment. All CFESA technician training programs include classroom and hands-on education, and testing on the ability to identify,
troubleshoot and repair problems on many types of equipment. Because manufacturer’s provide the latest equipment for our use in training sessions the
students are assured they are being taught current and relevant information.
Our Service Manager Training class is a three day course specifically designed to assist service managers in doing their jobs better, from planning to completion. This course is open to any manager in the foodservice industry because it focuses on customer service and the problem solving aspects that are a part of every manager position, whether it be in a service company, manufacturer or otherwise.
Customer Service Training Videos
Working with the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers, we have developed a series of training videos. These videos demonstrate the importance of and proper methods of good customer service, and are available through our headquarters.

Conferences & Meetings
Our Spring and Fall Conferences are packed with speakers, workshops, seminars and meetings that will help you run your business, from your front office to your techs in the field. Topics range from employee motivation and retention to updates on breaking technologies, and from Board and Committee meetings to profit planning surveys.
CFESA is made up of six regions, each of which holds a meeting at least once per year. This gives companies the opportunity to talk about issues specific to their region and minimizes travel expenses.
CFESA members reap the benefits of committee work.
The Business Technology Committee is constantly working to forecast the changes in technology to keep our members informed.
The Education/ Training and Membership Services Committees evaluate current programs and initiate new ones.
The Marketing Committee continues to provide the association members with tools and opportunities to market their companies via CFESA.
The Membership Services Committee provides ongoing benefits for CFESA members to take advantage of.
CFESA Certification
The Commercial Food Equipment Service Association is committed to making sure your repair needs are met professionally and efficiently. To support quality service, CFESA has a program in which technicians are tested and certified only upon successful completion of an exam. After passing rigorous exams, our technicians are awarded seals of excellence in electricity, gas, steam or refrigeration and given certificates noting their CFESA Certified Technician status in that area. Once a technician passes three out of four tests, they are awarded a Master Technician Certification.
CFESA Company Certification Program
The CFESA company certification program is designed to acknowledge those service companies in the industry who have focused their businesses on the areas of finance, training, company professionalism, industry relations and participation in CFESA. The program is designed to recognize service companies regardless of size as the requirements can be met by small companies as well as large. The fee for processing the certification document is $200.00.
